young people
IN SEPTEMBER 2019 WE LAUNCHED AN EXCITING NEW PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, PARENTS/CARERS AND TEACHERS CALLED, GET CAREER CONFIDENT.
VISIT WWW.GETCAREERCONFIDENT.CO.UK FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
We are here to help you with the important decisions you need to make in your career journey. This could be anything from practical decision making (such as what GCSEs to take), to knowledge building (for example where you can take the courses that interest you) to skill building (such as CV writing and interview techniques) and some of life's bigger questions along the way (who am I and what do I really want?)
We offer impartial, independent advice. This means we listen, without judging and without trying to convince you to do what we think is best. We think you know you best and our job is to help you build the skills, knowledge and networks (the people that can help you on your chosen journey) right for you.
Here are some of the ways we can support you:
- We offer careers e-guidance where you can get any questions you might have about work, education and careers answered by a local professional careers adviser via email. At the moment this service is just offered through educational establishments (so ask at your school if you have access) but we are looking at ways to open up to all young people.
- We see thousands of young people face to face either one to one or in small groups for guidance and in bigger groups for careers workshops in schools and colleges.
If you don't have access to the above services through your schools, college etc we also see young people independently. Please contact us for more information.
