RiiG Limited www.riig.co.uk has a fantastic opportunity for 12 exceptional and talented school leavers to join its inaugural Claims Academy www.claimsacademy.co.uk on the 7th September 2015. People usually assume insurance is about call centres and men in grey suits. They think it is boring. Thankfully, the truth is far more exciting. Insurance touches every other industry in the world and every aspect of our daily lives. From protection for music gigs and festivals, to cover for your home, car and pets. Insurance is a broad and varied industry. The most important aspect of the insurance industry is paying claims. When things go wrong, businesses and people rely on the insurance industry to pay their claims. This money helps them get their businesses and lives back on track. Before paying a claim, insurance companies need to be sure the claim is genuine. They employ specially trained staff to make this assessment. Claims consultants need to be: detectives, lawyers, project managers, marketers, counsellors and cyber experts. With a career in insurance, you can be who you want to be. Can you imagine helping a family who have lost their home after a flood? Are you inquisitive enough to work with fire investigators and work out how a factory fire started? Could you spot a pattern of car crashes that shows a criminal gang making false claims? Would you go to a city hit by an earthquake to help shop keepers re-open, put families back in homes or facilitate the rebuilding of factories and businesses? One day, will you be in the team that approves a multi-million pound claim by an airline? Does that sound boring? Claims Academy students will have the chance to develop key insurance skills and qualifications and gain a head start in their career development without going to university. Find out more about the programme and how to apply by downloading the doc below.

It takes place: Apprenticeship Matching Event: Thursday July 2nd 2015. 3pm to 4.30pm at Otherplace at the Basement, 24 Kensington Street, Brighton, BN1 4AJ - view a map of the venue Young people can register for a place at the next event online. They will then receive an email with the details of the venue with an allocated time slot. They need to bring several up to date copies of their CV, and it is important to dress appropriately to meet with potential employers. This information is also available on the Council’s website ; http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/jobs/apprenticeships/apprenticeship-matching Apprenticeship matching These matching events are held at town centre venues on a regular basis. Each event can host up to 100 young people looking for an Apprenticeship and they will be invited to attend at an allocated time. The events offer young people the chance to find out about and apply for the vacancies available with selected training providers and employers. We are not able to bring all of the live vacancies in the city to each event so young people you may not be able to find an exact match at that event. However, they be able to register with the different training providers to be notified when new vacancies come up and you they may find what they are looking for at the following event. An important part of these events is information, advice and guidance. There will be advisors on hand to meet young people and find out about their current situation and what they are looking for. They will let young people know what kinds of vacancies are available so they can speak to the right training providers and employers. Brighton & Hove City Council have run a number of these events previously, and they've always had really good feedback both from young people and providers. ‘ These events enable us to engage with young people who are genuinely interested in our live vacancies. This gives us the opportunity to discuss vacancies in greater detail offering invaluable face to face information, advice and guidance. Without these events I don’t believe we would have found some of our fantastic apprenticeships’ Training Provider. Registration is online but we will welcome anyone who turns up at any point during the event. |
